Each year WONKY partners with Encounters Film Festival to bring you the AniJam Challenge, a 48hr creative animation mission. The AniJam challenge is simple.  Create an animated film based around a specific themes in 48hrs. 48hrs to create an animation from start to finish? Sound Crazy? Well over the years we’ve had hundreds of talented creatives taking part and coming up with brilliant films in the process.

In 2018 we’ve been delighted to join forces with Anim18 to deliver AniJam UK and take AniJam nationwide. Over the summer, animators across the UK were invited to take part in a 48-hour animation challenge across seven regional heats.

The Winners!

We can now announce that (drum roll)…

The Grand Prix prize was won by Belfast’s team ‘Playblast’ for their film ‘Together we Stand Un-United’.

The Public Vote was won by Manchester’s ‘The United States of Salford’ for their film ‘Flock Together’.

A BIG congratulations to both teams and to everyone that participated for completing their films in just 48 hours.

You can get a taste of all of them in the AnimJam UK trailer.

What is AniJam UK?

AniJam UK is a creative challenge brought to you by WONKY in partnership with Anim18: A celebration of British Animation. This year AniJam UK aims to inspire and showcase new work from emerging and established talent from across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Animators and artists over the age of 18 competed in teams of 2 to 5 people, and had just 48 hours to produce an original film in any style of animation. This year’s theme was ‘Together’ and each region took a slightly different angle on this theme. You can see what all the teams came up with in the Latest Jam section.
